We will be playing at Laser Assault in the Provo Towne Center on Friday the 16th of October. We are gaming from 6 to 9 PM.

Be there early to get a lay of the arena and even get a practice game in!

The story and the details

I organized this laser tag tournament back in 2022 to get all my friends and family out for a fun night, doing only what Laser Assault can provide. I love good-natured competition and I have found this to be an incredible way to get out, have fun, work together, and make something happen that is bigger than myself.

I've played Laser Storm for years and it is similar competitive team based video gaming, but in real life! That is why I have sought to get others interested and come out once a year to play!

We've done it bigger and better every year, with last year having 8 teams! And holy cow was that a long night despite the fact that we reduced game time and had little to no intermisions. Now that most of us are growing up with kids and families, this is going to become a more exclusive event with only 5 teams so we can get it done quickly.

How it is going to work:

We decide a day that most people can show up to
You fill out your registration to let me know your skill level, who you want to play with (or if you're a free agent for drafting), if you want to captain, and team name suggestions
The Captains and I will fill up the rest of the open team slots with a draft of the free agents
I will let everyone know who is on what team
Show up at Laser Assault in the Provo Towne Centere Mall at 6 PM and pay your $20 at the front desk if you didn't pay using the sign up link provided by Laser Assault

How to play

Laser Storm is the most strategic and competitive laser tag experience.
Teams work together to push lanes, defend zones, and time high-risk scoring runs to win the match.

🗺️ How the Game Works (Quick Overview)

The field is divided into two team sides — players cannot cross the center barrier. Walls and obstacles must stay in place. Key areas of the map:

Attack Lane — main path to the enemy base
Support Lane (“The Finger”) — helps clear defenders
Pod Zone — scoring zone at the end of the attack lane

🔺 Scoring the Base

At the end of the attack lane is the Pod Zone marker. It’s a high-risk, high-reward scoring system that makes Laser Storm intense and strategic.

Stand inside the zone to score leagally
A base hit is worth 5 points
The base can only be hit once every 16 seconds
Mistime your shot — and the base shoots back and deactivates you
